Privacy

Here is exactly what PixelCare keeps, in plain language.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts, sign-ups or logins.
  • No ads.
  • No cookies.
  • We count page visits anonymously, with no cookies or identifiers.
  • No third-party trackers or analytics. Every page, font and game is served from PixelCare itself.
  • We never ask for names, email addresses or any other personal details.

Your initials

If you get a high score, you can enter three letters (like “ABC”). They are shown on the public top-10 leaderboard next to your score and the game. Your device also remembers them (in your browser’s local storage) so they fill in automatically next time. You can change or forget them at any time from the leaderboard. Please don’t use letters that spell out your real name if you’d rather stay private.

Your best scores

Your device remembers your best score for each game (in your browser’s local storage), so it can show “Best” and tell you when you beat it. It is just a number per game and never leaves your device.

Plays and scores

Each time you start a game, the server records the game, the time and your final score, so it can run the leaderboard and count games played. To tie a score to the game it came from, your browser tab makes up a random code. It is kept only in that tab and is gone when you close it. It is not linked to you, your device or other visits.

Plays are deleted after 48 hours. For scores that made the leaderboard, the play’s record is kept, but its random code is replaced after 48 hours. The leaderboard entry itself keeps the code alongside the initials and score.

Anonymous game stats

To see which games people enjoy and keep them fair, we keep simple counts, such as how long a round lasted, a rough score range, how it ended, and whether a set of initials has been used before (yes or no only). These records hold no codes, initials, IP addresses or device details, their time is rounded to the hour, and they are deleted after 180 days. Only totals are ever reported.

Hosting

PixelCare is hosted on Netlify, which handles each request to the site and may keep standard server logs as part of running it.
